Essie A Touch Of Sugar and Stirring Secrets Nail Polishes From The Spring 2019 Collection Review and Comparisons

Essie recently released their new Spring 2019 collection, which is limited edition and inspired by florals. The collection consists of six nail polishes in a range of finishes and shades including a nude pink cream, apricot coral pearly, periwinkle blue with lilac iridescence, chestnut brown with golden iridescence, sheer pink and dark teal green metallic.

I really like that they have done a range of finishes in this collection and the shade range is lovely as well.

This was released in the UK quite a lot later than most other countries. The two shades that stood out to me from the swatches I had seen were a touch of sugar and stirring secrets.
Update: Since posting this review I have bought teacup half full from this collection and have posted a review and comparison post here.

A Touch Of Sugar

A Touch of Sugar I would describe as a pink nude shade with gold and rose gold glitters in. It is one of those nail polishes which look a different shade depending on the lighting. It wasn’t easy to capture the true shade on camera. When the light catches the rose gold glitter, it really stands out as that shade, but in other it can look more of a pink nude with some gold glitter in.

I think this is a beautiful shade and I don’t have anything similar to this in my collection, so won’t be comparing this to any other nail polishes. It’s so lovely to see Essie bring out some different finishes like this and I would love to see more from them in the future.

It has a lovely formula with small pieces of glitter in. On the first coat it applied really well and you could just see my nail line a bit. On the second coat it was fully opaque. It did feel slightly textured once dried, but after a top coat it gets rid of that.

Stirring Secrets

Stirring Secrets is a pink nude shade in a cream formula. With this one it can look slightly more of a peach nude rather than pink. This kind of shade I find so versatile to wear.

It has a lovely thick formula, which I found so easy to work with. On the first coat it coated well and I hardly had any streaks. On the second coat it was fully opaque.

Thumb, Middle and Little Finger- Essie Stirring Secrets, Index Finger- Essie Topless & Barefoot, Ring Finger- OPI Stop It I’m Blushing

Essie Topless and Barefoot is a dark nude shade with a pink undertone. OPI Stop It I’m Blushing is a slightly lighter shade, with more peach in. It was hard to pick this up on camera.
