Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette 157 Magnify Review

The Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette in 157 Magnify was my very first eyeshadow palette I bought from Dior and is one of my favourites. I love the purple colour range and the different finishes. When I recently posted a photo to my Instagram of my Dior eyeshadow palette collection, I realised I had never done a review blog post on this palette, so decided to do one.

In the permanent range of the 5 couleurs eyeshadow palettes there are ten. Within this range there are lots of different shades and finishes to choose from. They also release limited edition 5 couleurs in the seasonal launches as well.

The 5 couleurs eyeshadow palettes all comes with various different formulas from matte, metallic, satiny, shiny, iridescent and glittery.

It says on Dior website that the “Dior laboratories have channelled their expertise to achieve extraordinary colour fidelity. The result on the eyes is identical to the shade and intensity you see in the palette. The pigments are compacted into powders using binders to create a creamy sensation on the fingertips. On the skin, the powder is imperceptible and the colour fuses into an incredibly fine film with spectacular staying power”.

The Dior 5 couleurs eyeshadow palettes come in a compact and inside is a good sized mirror in the lid and on the bottom you have the eyeshadows, with two eye applicators as well.

The eyshadows have some quilted cushion detailing on them and the centre shade has CD.

The first shade is a shimmery finish and in the palette it looks an off white, but when you look close up in the palette you can see the pink shimmer and this is the colour you get when you swatch and when you apply on the eye. This shade is beautiful for the main colour all over the lid and as the inner corner highlight.

The second shade is a shimmery finish and is a lilac. This is another shade I love to use all over the lid and in the crease.

The third shade is a shimmery finish and is mauve. This is beautiful in the outer corner and in the crease.

The fourth shade is a satiny finish and is a deep purple with just a small amount of pink purple shimmer running through it. This is the darkest shade in the palette and is perfect for the outer corner.

The fifth shade which is the middle one, is shimmer finish and a medium purple. This is another shade which can be used on the outer corner.

I find all of the eyeshadows have great pigmentation and formulas. They are so easy to apply and blend out. They don’t crease on me and will last all day long.

This eyeshadow palette has such a gorgeous range of purples, which work so beautifully together and I have used them with other shades in other palettes and created so many different looks with them. In this palette the three shades which are my most used are the top two and the bottom left.

This is available to buy from your local Dior counter, Dior UK £48 and Dior US $62.00.

Leave me a comment below. Have you got this eyeshadow palette? What do you think to these shades?
